Bulgaria opens tender to sell cigarette maker

SOFIA, April 26 (Reuters) - Bulgaria opened a tender to sell its majority stake in state cigarette maker Bulgartabak BTHG.BB in a bid to offload state assets, the privatisation agency said on Tuesday.
The agency invited strategic and financial investors to buy tender documents by June 10. Binding offers have to be filed by the end of August.
The Balkan country is offering to sell its 79.8 percent stake in the holding, which has two cigarette mills and a tobacco processing unit.
The remaining 20.2 percent are listed at the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.

Bulgarian 2011 Growth Forecast Raised at Eurobank on Exports

Bulgaria’s economy may grow as much as 3.2 percent this year, driven by exports, EFG Eurobank Ergasias SA (EUROB) said, raising its estimate after the government revised fourth-quarter gross domestic product figures higher.
Exports, which account for 57.8 percent of GDP, rose 16 percent from a year ago after a preliminary estimate of a 10.7 percent gain in the fourth quarter and an 18.5 percent increase in the previous three months.

Slovene bank NLB readies sale of three units

(Nova Ljubljanska Banka, Slovenia's largest bank, is preparing sale of units in Austria, Bulgaria and Germany as a part of a strategy to improve capital strength.
"Talks with a potential buyer of NLB Bank Sofia (in Bulgaria) are in the last phase, while activities to sell (bank) LHB Frankfurt and Vienna's Adria Bank are under way," NLB said on Friday. (Reporting by Marja Novak; Editing by Dan Lalor)
